About the Program

This episode is about the supportive communities and relationships built over the Folk Arts Center’s first half century, with their focus on welcoming people of all backgrounds and all levels of dance prowess.
We will share tales of FAC’s spiritual and earth-bound angels as well as stories of the healing power of folks dancing and hanging together. As time permits, we will share your "How We Met" anecdotes and note the enduring friendships and partnerships that have been forged over the years.
To share your personal stories you can upload photos or stories here. Please let us know if we can share your stories publicly.
About the Presenters
Andy is one of Conny and Marianne Taylor’s (FAC founders) children; she grew up during the formation and early years of the Folk Arts Center, and has observed first-hand how folk dancing fosters connections between individuals and groups. Her daughter Alex has been part of the FAC community since birth and has been instrumental in collecting and organizing the historical material that we are sharing in these SOFA episodes.
