About the Program
Join the Taylor siblings, sisters Micki, Andy, and Tina, and brother Mark, for a lively presentation on their parents’ background and what led them to found the Folk Arts Center of New England in 1975.
There will be archival and anecdotal stories shared about Conny’s and Marianne’s backgrounds, who and which organizations encouraged them, and a trivia quiz (prize: bragging rights only!). We will welcome your stories and questions, too! Special cameos by extended family members.
About the Presenters
From the day they were born, each of the Taylor children was involved in the family business. They were brought to the dances, learned how to set up for events, helped with administrative tasks in the home office (level 1 windows on the right), and served as assistant teachers. Micki has directed the dance program at Boston University for 39+ years. Andy has led international and Scottish dance groups locally and taught nationally. Tina has been an assistant and performer for one of the groups that Andy founded and directs, Mladost Folk Ensemble. Mark was an avid Scottish dancer in his youth, then veered toward volleyball.
