Norwegian Cookie Baking

with Mary Seim

Follow up details to the online workshop that was held on Thursday, December 3, 2020

Mary Seim, who has lived in Norway since 2006, shows us how to make some tasty and typical Norwegian cookies just in time for the holidays. Mary has been baking since childhood and loves the challenge of learning new techniques and trying new recipes!

Christmas is extraordinarily special in Scandinavia, especially Norway, and the seasonal cookies reflect that. Did you know that it’s considered bad luck to serve fewer than SEVEN types of cookies during Christmas events?

Here are the links to the recipes for the four recipes Mary baked on Thursday night:

There was also much discussion about converting grams to cups for different baking ingredients. Mary suggested this page as a good resource.
