About the Presentation

The Folk Arts Center is thrilled to present Susan in a second appearance for us on Zoom this year! In June, she and her husband, Gary, presented an Armenian dance workshop. Now Susan is back to share with us her skill at making Armenian Puklavah. She first shared the recipe and techniques at the 1988 Festival of America in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution where Susan represented the Armenian community in Massachusetts through dance workshops and making puklavah.

You can bake along with Susan during this workshop! There's a recipe which includes a list of ingredients and directions, as well as special recollections from Susan about learning to make it as a child at her grandmother’s side.

About Susan and Gary

Susan and Gary live in Watertown, Massachusetts, a historical and major center of Armenian culture and heritage in the United States. They both work at the Armenian Museum of America in Watertown Square. Susan is currently compiling an exhaustive book on Armenian textiles.
