Designs by Daphne, pack of 8 notecards and envelopes. Greeting: “Merry Christmas”
Ornament Tree: The Christmas tree came to Scandinavia from Germany in the 1700s and was immediately adopted as a symbol of Christmas. Though the early trees were decorated mainly with candles and bright red apples, a large variety of ornaments made of straw, paper, wood and wood shavings began to appear on the tree. These items were meticulously made by hand during the dark weeks before Christmas. Most can now be found commercially. From candy tassels, to the Julbock, to the handsome star, these ornaments make the tree distinctively Scandinavian.
