May Dance Parties

Thursday Night Folk Dancing

May 16 • Arlington, MA • 8pm

Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, we will not be having live music at this week's Thursday Night Folk Dancing. However, we will still be dancing!

Sue Rose will be our programmer. She will lead a review of Tu Nopti, an upbeat dance from Roberto Bagnoli which the Pixton-Poirier band recently played live for us, and Shecharchoret, a classic and accessible Israeli couple dance.

Also, there will be cake this week! If you want to find out why there is cake... you will just have to come to the dance and share it with us. And be sure to bring your dance requests!

Masks are optional but welcome and highly recommended.

Our final dance of the season will be on June 6.

Monthly Dance Party

with Shining Moon

May 18 • Belmont, MA • 8pm

Join us on Saturday, May 18, for a dance party sponsored by Mladost Folk Ensemble! There's no cost to get in, so we encourage attendees to make a donation to support the group. All funds will go toward paying the costs that help us keep dancing!

Music and programming will be by Shining Moon, and Taylor Yeracaris will be our MC for the evening. There will even be a special performance by Mladost at the break, plus a silent auction with prizes you don't want to miss! (Any baseball fans out there?)

Contributions to the food table are welcome. We will be featuring a special taco table run by our talented Mexican parents!

Come dance with us, in person or online, and support our growing youth community! The Zoom link can be accessed through our shop with the option to make a make a donation.

Cut a Rug

May 19 • online • 3:45pm

It’s almost time to set up your home dance space for the final Cut A Rug of the season!

Join Marcie Van Cleave on Zoom this Sunday, May 19, as she transports you around the world through dance, without the need to purchase a single plane ticket. What better way to round out the weekend than to come together "virtually" and cut a rug!
