Early April Dancing

Thursday Night Folk Dancing

postponed to April 11

Tomorrow's Thursday Dance will be postponed one week, to Thursday April 11. Please join us then to dance when there will be no distraction from a Nor'Easter. A big thanks to Marcie for arranging our space for next week!

There will still be two Thursday dances this month, on April 11 and April 18; stay tuned for more information.

Friday Night Folk Dancing

April 5 Arlington, MA

April is upon us, and with it, the usual calendar chaos! Between the NEFFA Festival (April 19-21) and the Friday night church's annual rummage sale, not to mention the fact that the month's weather is famously and inherently stochastic ... the Friday schedule gets a little weird!

In other words, this Friday's dance, April 5, is the only one of the month. I hope you can join me to make it a great evening!

Camp and Tour News

June Pinewoods

It is almost impossible to imagine that in just about 11 weeks, many of us will be packing our suitcases and departing for Plymouth and the joys that await us at Pinewoods Camp!

Haven't signed up yet? No worries! There is space left in the FolkDays session (June 24-27), and a short waiting list for the Weekend session (June 20-24). All you have to do is click here to register.

Richard Powers and Emily Saletan, Efie Derksen and Hans Derksen, the Flying Squirrel Orchestra, Sue Flint, and I are all looking forward to seeing you... in the Dining Hall or in the pond, at the Greeting Shed or at an afterparty, on the dance floor or on Cloud Nine!

Labor Day Weekend at Pinewoods

There is a lot of hurrying and scurrying behind the scenes to prepare the launch of the Labor Day Weekend at Pinewoods session (August 30 - September 3). That session's exhilarating details will be revealed in next week's newsletter!

We will open registration on Monday, April 22 at noon (Boston time), with preference given for the first 24 hours to members of either the Folk Arts Center or the Country Dance Society, Boston Centre.

Full details next week!

"Autumn in Bulgaria" Tour - October 17-31

It is official - the tour is most definitely happening, with 32 people already packing their suitcases!

The great news is that there is room for more, so why not consider joining Iliana Bohanova, Todor Yankov, and me ... along with folks from as close as around the corner in the greater Boston area, to California, Maryland, New Jersey, Arizona, Pennsylvania, plus British Columbia, Switzerland, and New Zealand!

Tantalizing details are on the website, including a link to the registration page.

Iliana expressed it very well when she wrote: "We will be very happy, if you are able to spend 15 days of your life in Bulgaria with us and your new and old friends! Discovering Bulgaria with friends will be something very exciting and unforgettable! Don't miss it! The life is very short!

Truer words have seldom been spoken.
