Hungarian Cooking: Hortobágyi Palacsinta (meat-filled crepes) with Dénes Takácsy

Part of our Thursday evening SOFA Series presentations, find the program listings online.

About the Presentation
Join Dénes as he shows us one of his favorite family recipes, for Hortobágyi palacsinta (meat-filled crepes). These savory crepes are wrapped around a delectably-spiced stewed meat filling and served with a sauce made from the thickened cooking liquid. Download a list of ingredients.

About Dénes
Leader of Boston’s Forgás Hungarian Dance Group, Dénes was born and raised in Gyula, Hungary where he started dancing over 30 years ago. He performed with the Balassi Dance Ensemble at international folk festivals all over the world. After moving to Boston, Dénes started to teach a weekly Hungarian dance class, which is still going strong over 10 years later. He has performed with Beth Bahia Cohen, with Borozda Dance Ensemble in Chicago, with Rozsafa Dance Ensemble in Washington, DC, with Delibab Dance Ensemble in New York City, and at Carnegie Hall with Nikolett Pankovits Sextet & The River Voices. Dénes says, “Besides of my dancing passion, I truly enjoy cooking as well. I love to entertain friends and share homemade Hungarian dishes with them based on authentic family recipes.”
