Tanac Croatian Folk Ensemble from Pécs, Hungary

NOTE: The Tanac tour will be rescheduled for next year because of the coronavirus threat and the travel ban.

The Tanac Folk Dance Ensemble was founded by the young people of the Croatian villages surrounding Pécs in 1988. The ensemble’s first aim is always to collect, present, and preserve the folk traditions of Croatian people living in Hungary. Their repertoire includes dances inspired by the music of Béla Bartók. During their performances you will enjoy the music of the seven-piece tamburitzan band, twenty-one lively dancers, colorful embroidered costumes, and demonstrations of old world customs and singing.
