About the Weekend

The 2024 weekend will feature a mix of cross-step and rotary waltz workshops plus some other dances from Susan’s large and eclectic repertoire for variety and fun! Cross-step waltz is one of Susan’s specialties and it’s perfect for those slower tunes -- it's easy to learn, yet endlessly innovative and creative for experienced dancers. For those not familiar, check out this great cross-step waltz video.

We’ll also have time for open dancing and practice, a group dj’ed dance on Saturday night along with an optional group dinner at a nearby restaurant. The weekend will be followed by the regular Mostly Waltz for Boston dance on Sunday afternoon with live music by Jacqueline Schwab and Dave Langford. We hope you can join us!

  • Level: The weekend is designed for dancers familiar with any form of turning waltz. Friday will be aimed at more advanced dancers. Advanced beginner dancers are welcome to join us starting Saturday morning.
  • Partnering: It is not necessary to attend any of these workshops with a partner. We encourage rotating partners, or you can choose to stay with your own partner.
  • COVID policy: Masks are optional but welcome. COVID vaccine is highly recommended but not required. The hall has great ventilation with windows lining both sides and ceiling fans.
  • Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes before your first workshop to check-in.
  • Shoes: Help protect the hall's wooden floors by changing from street shoes to clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing.
  • Carpools: Feel free to post requests and offers on the Mostly Waltz Facebook event page.
