Russian workshops and dance party
FAC presents Russian dance workshops with Murray and Randi Spiegel, Russian singing workshops with Julia Poirier, and an evening dance party. Details to be announced.
Les Jours de France
Folk dance, music, and song from French provinces are featured in workshops and an evening dance party.
Trips abroad
Experienced FAC leaders offer occasional guided tours to other countries, focusing on traditional culture. Past tour destinations have been Bulgaria and Portugal. In October 2009, FAC partnered with Dvorana Dance for a folk dance tour in the Czech Republic.
Concerts
FAC sponsors occasional concerts by visiting folk musicians, followed by dancing for all. Past concerts have featured Eastern European, Bulgarian, Celtic, Asturian, Macedonian, Romani, and Québécois music. See Celtic Cruise to benefit FAC for information about a Celtic concert on Gloucester Harbor.
Film series
Documentary films that relate folk culture to contemporary life are viewed and discussed.
