Dance & music camps
FAC’s June week at Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, MA features international folk dance workshops led by guest teachers and evening folk dance parties with music by The Pinewoods Band. The camp’s tranquil hillsides and shaded paths lie between two ponds ideal for swimming, sunning, and canoeing. Dining and dancing are in open-sided pavilions under the trees.
FAC’s Columbus Day weekend at Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, VT features international folk dance and music workshops led by guest teachers and evening folk dance parties with music by The Pinewoods Band. The camp’s meadows and forested hills beside Lake Morey provide a perfect setting for enjoying fall weather and foliage.
The Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle School takes place in early August on Thompson Island, Boston Harbor, MA. The week-long School offers fiddle classes for all levels with an international staff of expert teachers. Other daytime activities include jam sessions, camper-led classes, and opportunities to explore the 240-acre island. Evening events include mini-concerts, dances, and a New England clambake. Visitors’ Day is held on Tuesday.
FAC and Country Dance Society, Boston Centre co-sponsor Labor Day Weekend at Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, MA. FAC presents morning workshops in instrumental and vocal international music. The afternoon programs include music and dance classes. Evening parties feature a mix of English country, New England, and international dancing.
